An abortion is a medical procedure, so you’ll want to get all the facts if you are considering an abortion. There are three things you need to know first:

  • Are you still pregnant? Many people do not know that 15-20% of pregnancies end in miscarriage during the first trimester. If you are no longer pregnant, terminating the pregnancy is unnecessary.
  • Is your pregnancy viable? Ectopic pregnancies, when the fetus implants somewhere outside the uterus, most often in the fallopian tube, can be very dangerous for you. Other situations can effect the viability of a pregnancy. Getting an ultrasound lets you know what’s going on as you make you decision.
